IMPERFECTION AND STRIVING FOR PERFECT

This is a somewhat philosophical blog. So, I don't want to give the impression that imperfection translates to giving less than 100 percent of your effort to your clients, customers, or your organization/company. This is a rhetorical question with no right or wrong answer. Is perfection an attainable goal, and is it even a desirable goal. Of course we have an expectation of perfection in certain professions; bankers and doctors, are two that come to mind. But as artists it is those subtle imperfections which give our artwork that human element. Today more than ever artificial intelligence (AI) has gained a foothold in society. Moreover, it has entered the art world, specifically photography. Although camera's and software can make up for some our shortcomings, it is still the photographer that must compose the picture and position themselves to make sure the light is correct.  The imperfections of the below flower is what I believe makes this photograph successful. The petals are slightly torn on the edges, and the sepal are somewhat dry. The allure of this flower, is, it is perfectly imperfect.  And that's okay.
