There are a few instances when capturing shots high in the sky work well. Drone photography can be very dramatic and it allows you to capture shots DSLR photographers dream about. When I first began flying drones my natural instinct was to fly as high as permitted and start snapping away. After a few shots I soon learned that it gave the appearance of Google Satellite images. Which is okay, but it depends on what you are photographing. Below are two images one of outrigger canoes, the other of a beach. I like the outrigger canoes from a high altitude with the camera slightly pointed at an angle. The aerial of the beach scene almost resembles a satellite image. Both have their place in drone photography, but as a preference I like lower altitude photography with a target subject. (See Above)
