When Changing Lens Protect Lens Mount Opening

While reviewing old files, I came across a photo that reminded me of a lesson I learned. I learned this lesson while changing lenses and exposed to the elements. Weather and elements are considerations everywhere. In Hawaii the sun may be shining where you are standing, but not far away there is a passing rain shower. The trade winds can occasionally sprinkle you with just enough water  to create what you see in the top photo. I was in the midst of changing lenses and broke three golden rules: 1) Protect the camera lens mount opening by turning your back to the wind and using your body as a shield. 2) Point the camera lens mount opening face down. 3) Change lens as quickly as possible. By following those simple rules you will minimize the chance of dust particles and rain from getting on your mirror. There are ways to clean your camera mirror if this occurs, but it's best to have a professional camera shop perform this task. The top photograph is before I remove the speckles. The second photograph is after I remove the spots. Fortunately I was able to remove these spots using photoshop. There's a feature in Adobe Creative Cloud using the lasso tool which is very useful for removing unwanted spots and other stuff. You will need to experiment and eventually you will master this technique. See step-by-step instructions below.
1. Open photo in Photoshop/Creative Cloud.
2. The "Tool Bar" has several functions find the "Lasso Tool".
3. Click on "Lasso Tool" function and place cursor over the blemish, draw a circle.
4. Click on "Edit" and scroll down to "Fill".
5. Under "Contents" ensure "Contents Aware" is selected, Check "Color Adaption Mode" is Normal
    "Opacity" is 100 %
6. Click "Ok" and the blemishes will be gone. Repeat as necessary.
