When photographing a subject, I try to capture the essence of how I feel. Sometimes the image may be presented to you by chance. The above photograph was captured not long after I launched my drone. Given the command to take off, the drone will hover, once it reaches a set altitude. At this point, I will check camera settings to make sure the f/stop and ISO are set according to the light. As I was looking at the display screen and adjusting the settings, I shifted the drone to center the frame, and adjusted the altitude; and liked what I saw. Even though it was by chance, it was me positioning the drone and composing the picture. The two photographs below also fall inline with the theme "Position and Composition" It was an overcast day, which often lends to black and white photography. I'm not sure how long the shop has been at this location, but the naked wooden structure added to the ambiance. My initial shot was of an unknown photographer and a lady making a purchase from the shop. The second shot was a partial view of the shop with the lake and mountains in the background. They both tell a different story but they are the same structure. The photograph with the photographer tells an intimate story, while the other is a simple photograph with an artistic angle. Never-the-less, it was me repositioning myself and composing from a different spot. And this is what I mean by "Position and Composition". These two elements are essential to creating a successful photograph. As a continuation, I will be posting another blog on "Position and Composition" but the theme is, "Same Structure Different Perspective".
